Vote NO on Judge Christopher Coury

Coury has a dangerous record of abusing his position to pursue his own extreme political agenda. We deserve better.

Judge Coury is using the judicial bench as a tool for political activism. This is dangerous.

In his ruling throwing the Invest in Ed initiative off the ballot, Coury embodied the disdain that Arizona’s rulers feel for the majority when they try to exercise their rights.

The Arizona Legislature, in recent years, has dealt a series of systematic body blows to our constitutional right to make laws at the ballot box. But Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury?

In one swift judicial upper cut, he may have just delivered a knock-out punch.

If Invest in Ed is dead, so is Arizona voters' constitutional right to make any laws

But the nearly half a million voters who wanted a chance to vote for increased funding for public education were overruled by one individual: Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury.

435,000 reasons to pay attention to the judges on your ballot

Judge Coury abused his position of power to take away our right to vote on an issue that directly affects our children.

After over 400,000 Arizonans signed petitions to put the Invest in Ed initiative on the ballot, Judge Coury tried to remove it and issued an opinion that was politically motivated and legally incorrect. In fact, the Arizona Supreme Court unanimously reversed Judge Coury’s decision and voters will have a chance to fully fund public education by voting YES on Prop 208.

Now we have a chance to tell Judge Coury to keep politics out of the courtroom! When you vote early or on Tuesday, November 3, vote NO on Judge Coury. Judges should not try and legislate from the bench!
